The Social Studies Department at The Newburgh Enlarged City School District seeks to guide students in developing the knowledge and skills to understand historical and contemporary experiences/events, analyze interpersonal and global tensions, and actively participate in our system of government
Through our work we ensure that our students continuously engage in the inquiry process in our classes by asking them to analyze historical documents through multiple sources in order to garner the validity of these artifacts

The Office of Language Acquisition of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District is dedicated to serving the needs of all Language Learners: English Learners, World Language, and Dual Language students. We are committed to providing our Language Learners research based, high quality programs for the purpose of achieving English and World Language Proficiency. The Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Fine and Performing Arts Department consists of 32 highly qualified music educators K-12; 14 highly qualified art educators K-8 and 1 highly qualified dance educator 9-12. Our department provides students with a comprehensive Arts education based upon the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts which include literacy, creating, performing and communicating through Art, Music, Theater and Dance, as well as the new National Core Arts Standards. Our purpose is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for cognitive, creative, emotional and social growth that will allow them to become life-long learners and leaders beyond Academy Field!
